Cartagena ciudad amurallada

The old city or ciudad amurallada, is the most representative and touristic zone of Cartagena de Indias, the magnificent walls was build to resist the Caribbean pirates attack. The city, establish in 1533 by the Spanish conquistador Pedro De Heredia, was the main port to bring merchandise and slaves to South America and take the gold and others goods to Spain. Today, this historic city has been declared legacy of the humanity by the UNESCO, and in Colombia is the main tourist attraction and culture center.
